He is a currently full professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Sciences, “Al. I. Cuza” University of Iasi, where he teaches semiotics and its application, the philosophy of creation, etc. and coordinates doctoral papers in the field of semiotics and creatology. He is a senior scientific researcher (at National Inventics Institute, in Iasi, the President of AROSS (Romanian Association for Semiotic Studies), president of “Stefan Odobleja” Foundation, a Vice-president of ANATECOR, associated professor at AKAMAI Univerity (USA), a member of about 10 international scientific and professional associations. He sustained over 250 scientific (inter)national meetings, he has (co)authored 30 books and has received over 25 awards, medals and excellence diplomas for his research, books and inventions.

Currently works as Professor Ph.D at the “Stefan cel Mare” University from Suceava, and as a Researcher at the Lumen Research Centre in Humanistic Social Sciences in Iasi (Romania). He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Ethics and Health Policy of “Gr. T. Popa” University from Iasi. He has a BA in Philosophy and another BA in Social Work from “Al. I. Cuza” University, an MA in Probation and Social Reintegration from “Al. I. Cuza” University, and a PhD in Philosophy from the “Al. I. Cuza” University in Ia?i (Romania). His main areas of interest include ethics, bioethics, social work, social philosophy. In 2007, he becomes a PhD of the same University in Iasi with the thesis: The Classical Empiricism about the Sources of Knowledge John Locke and David Hume. He is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences, Letters and Communication, of Valahia University Targoviste. He is the author of over 30 articles and studies published in journals and in proceedings of international scientific conferences.

I have published over 50 scientific articles, textbooks, lecture notes and monographs in sport management and legislation.
Scientific activity – teaching is cantered mainly on the physical culture and sports, professional management and legislation. I teach courses in Cycle I, II and III and qualifying as PhD supervisor. I have successfully participated in national and international research projects, and have reviewed various scientific articles.

I have published over 100 scientific papers, courses, textbooks and monographs. I have coordinated over 15 PhD students as Doctoral Supervisor in the field of physical culture. In the last five years we obtained two patents and registration certificates with copyright objects. The publications are mainly focused on physical education and sports management, sports psychology and philosophy. I have participated in national and international projects, including as project manager.

Is a researcher in the field of philosophy interested both in continental philosophy, by critically approaching the cultural and philosophical presumptions of postmodernism, and in analytic philosophy, toward studying the main themes from philosophy of mind or philosophy of cognitive science, such as self, consciousness, or free will. Both endeavors were supported by training programs abroad (University of Konstanz, Germany; Scuola Internazionale di Alti Studi “Scienze della Cultura”, Fondazione San Carlo, Modena, Italy; Zentrum für Literatur- und Kulturforschung, Berlin, Germany; Radboud University, Nijmegen, The Netherlands), and the results were published in two books (Limits of Postmodernism; Introduction to the Philosophy of Mind) and some articles accepted in various peer-review journals, from Romania (Cultura. International Journal of Philosophy of Culture and Axiology; European Journal of Science and Theology) or abroad (Trans/Form/Ação; Filosofia Unisinos; The International Journal of the Humanities). Currently, he is getting a second PhD in philosophy of cognitive science at Radboud University, Nijmegen, The Netherlands with a thesis on free will and neuroscience.

Emma DUESTER
ESRC-funded PhD researcher – Department of Media and Communications at Goldsmiths, University of London. Associate Lecturer at Goldsmiths College and University of the Arts London (UNITED KINGDOM).
In her research, Emma explores the contemporary Baltic art worlds of Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius. In particular, she is interested in the mobilities of artists across Europe and the effects of this on these Baltic cities. The main theoretical conceptualization is concerned with mobility and how these particular types of movement impact on the transformation of ‘home’. Emma interviewed artists as well as art functionaries over two years and has carried out participant observation at the Contemporary Art Centre in Vilnius and has spent time with an Estonian artist in Vienna.

Doctor of Philosophy (Philosophy of Science domain), with thesis the „Antinomies mathematical and transcendental and their destiny in the contemporary Philosophy and Science”, he is also licensed in Psychology and has a master in Psychology and Psychosocial Intervention and Psychotherapy. He teaches courses like Introduction to Philosophy, Introduction to Psychology, Social and Cultural Anthropology, Philosophical Anthropology or Political Anthropology. Bogdan Popoveniuc has authored two books and two undergraduate courses and published more than 90 scientific articles mostly from an inter-disciplinary and trans-disciplinary perspective in the areas of Philosophy, Anthropology and Psychology.

Dan Ioan DASCALU is an associate professor at the “Stefan cel Mare” University of Suceava. He teaches sociology and social psychology courses in the social work and political science study programs. He is a part of the Department of Human Disciplines, Social and Political Science. He is licensed in sociology at the University of Bucharest, Faculty of History and Philosophy and has received his PhD in psychology at the “Al. I. Cuza” University of Iasi in 2001. His research focuses are on totalitarianism, political social psychology and the dimensions of contemporary individualism. His publications include the 2002 volume „Totalitarian personality”, the 2007 volume “Consumer behavior”, and the 2006 collective volume “Violence in sports”.
